According to data of the eVisitor system, which contains information about tourist traffic in commercial and non-commercial premises and nautical charter (the eCrew system), in the period from January until the end of May 3.6 million arrivals (+19%) and 11.6 million overnight stays (+24%) were registered in Croatia. Of this foreign tourists made 2.9 million arrivals (+22%) and 9.9 million overnight stays (+27%), whilst a growth in the arrivals (+10%) and overnight stays (+7%) of domestic guests was also noted.

“We are pleased with the results of this year’s pre-season in which we have achieved a double-figure growth in tourist traffic. This confirms that our digital campaigns, marketing and PR activities placed on foreign markets and implemented with the aim of positioning Croatia as a year-round destination have been very well accepted. We will continue cooperation with key foreign and local partners in attracting guests outside the summer part of the tourist year, which is one of our strategic goals”, said the Director of the Croatian National Tourism Board Kristjan Staničić.

“Croatian tourism has achieved a growth of over 35 per cent in tourist traffic in relation to the same period of two years ago and everyone in the tourist system should be proud of that. This is proof of how our activities so far have accomplished excellent results, but also of how tourism does not happen by itself, but how alongside the continuous work in improving the quality and the creation of new offers, great steps forward can be made. I believe that these results will also be reflected in the continuation in the growth of income from tourism and will be encouragement for everyone so that together we continue to build upon the success of Croatian tourism”, said Minister for Tourism Gari Cappelli.
