Croatia has shined once again on the global tourism stage, winning two bronze awards for Best Destination in the Mediterranean and Best Cruise Destination in Europe. These prestigious honors are from the Travvy Awards, often referred to as the "Oscars of the tourism industry." The awards were presented last night at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, based on votes from travel agents and tourism professionals across North America. As such, they represent one of the most significant accolades in global tourism.
“These prestigious awards are yet another confirmation of Croatia's exceptional international reputation, as well as a result of the continuous efforts of all stakeholders in Croatian tourism. We are particularly pleased that the awards came from the U.S. market, which shows growing interest and confidence in Croatia as a safe, authentic, and attractive destination. Achievements like this are a strong incentive for further improvements in the quality and sustainability of our tourism offer. We thank our partners and travel professionals who recognized Croatia’s value as a tourist destination with their votes,” said Kristjan Staničić, Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board.
In addition to the awards won, Croatia was also nominated in the category of Best European Tourist Board, which further confirms its leading role in promoting authentic and sustainable tourism experiences in the American market. All of this underscores Croatia's growing reputation as one of the top European destinations among American travelers. The award on behalf of the Croatian National Tourist Board was accepted by Paula Carreiro, associate at the CNTB Representative office in New York.
“We are deeply honored that Croatia has been recognized again at the Travvy Awards. These accolades reflect the dedicated work of our tourism partners and the growing interest of American travelers discovering the magic of Croatia – from historic cities and islands to top-quality gastronomy and rich cultural heritage,” stated Leila Krešić-Jurić, Director of the CNTB Representative office for North America.
Let’s add that these awards come after yet another successful year for Croatian tourism in the American market. During the first ten months, Americans recorded 829,000 arrivals and 2.3 million overnights in Croatia, representing a +10% increase in both arrivals and overnight stays compared to last year. The growing appeal of Croatia in the U.S. market has been further enhanced by new and existing direct flight routes, including United Airlines' new direct service from New York/Newark to Split, along with existing flights to Dubrovnik and direct Air Transat flights from Toronto to Zagreb.
