The international MICE B2B workshop called Break The Ice Forum was held from September 25 to 27 in Split. The Croatian National Tourist Board was one of the event partners, along with the Tourist Board of Split-Dalmatia County and the Tourist Board of Split, while the hotel partner and host was Le Méridien Lav Split, as well as the local DMC agency Intours, responsible for logistics and program organization.
A total of 123 participants took part in the Forum: 62 international buyers and 61 suppliers, including domestic hotels with conference capacities, DMC agencies, tourist boards, and congress offices.
“Break The Ice Forum in Split demonstrated that Croatia has strong potential in the meetings industry segment. The participation of a significant number of international buyers confirms the growing interest in our country as a MICE destination. These gatherings are extremely important because, in addition to enabling direct networking between domestic and international partners, they offer participants the chance to experience Croatia through authentic content, further positioning the destination on the international business tourism map,” stated the Croatian National Tourist Board.
The Forum format included pre-arranged meeting schedules, and the program was enriched with attractive destination activities, giving buyers the opportunity to personally explore Split and its surroundings.
Participants chose between various team-building activities, such as beach sports at the Le Méridien Lav hotel, an adrenaline-packed go-kart race, e-bike tours through Marjan Park, and excursions to Klis Fortress and Stella Croatica estate, during which everyone could taste olive oil and traditional Dalmatian products.
After the Forum, the Croatian National Tourist Board, in collaboration with local partners, organized a fam trip to Split for 10 selected international buyers.
The goal of the trip was to further showcase the destination’s meetings and incentive capacities. The program included visits to key hotels and locations, such as Hotel Ambassador, Cornaro, Radisson Blu, Amphora, and AC Marriott, as well as visits to the Meštrović Gallery, Split City Museum, Croatian Home Split, Žnjan Plateau, and other attractions in Split and Trogir. With guided tours and site inspections, participants also had the opportunity to experience authentic gastronomic offer at local restaurants.
The first Break The Ice Forum in Croatia was held in Zadar in 2022, and this edition in Split further confirmed the city’s position as an attractive and dynamic destination for business events.
