All state and emergency services responded in a timely manner, tourists in need of assistance taken care of

Following a difficult night and an extraordinary situation caused by a large-scale wildfire in the Omiš area and its surroundings, the situation on the ground is gradually stabilizing. State and emergency services and institutions remain on the ground, monitoring the situation and taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of people and property.

We hereby express our deepest regret for the tragic consequences of this event and wish a swift and successful recovery to everyone who was injured or affected by the fire in any way.

From the very beginning of the situation, the Ministry of Tourism and Sport and the Croatian National Tourist Board, in cooperation with local authorities and the tourism sector, have been actively participating in providing assistance to tourists affected by the fire. All tourists who needed help have been taken care of, and those in need have been provided with appropriate accommodation in hotels across the Split-Dalmatia County.

The situation is gradually normalizing, and tourism activities in most parts of the destination are proceeding without disruption. Croatia remains open and ready to welcome its guests, with continuous monitoring of the situation and full cooperation of all competent services and the tourism sector.

The safety of the destination is also confirmed by the timely reaction of all the services and the system's ability to quickly provide assistance and protect people in the event of an emergency. Therefore, special thanks go to firefighters, police, civil protection, medical services, local authorities, the tourism sector, and everyone investing superhuman efforts to protect people, homes, and property.
