Croatia gains a new MICHELIN star
Croatia can proudly celebrate a new MICHELIN star, awarded to the Istrian restaurant Harry's Piccolo in Poreč. This was confirmed today with the release of the latest MICHELIN Guide selection for Croatia, in which Agli Amici in Rovinj retained its two MICHELIN stars, while Krug (Split), Cap Aureo (Rovinj), Dubravkin put (Zagreb), Pelegrini (Šibenik), 360º (Dubrovnik), Monte (Rovinj), Noel (Zagreb), Boškinac (Novalja), LD Restaurant (Korčula), Nebo (Rijeka), Alfred Keller (Mali Lošinj) and Korak (Jastrebarsko) all successfully retained their one MICHELIN star.
MICHELIN has also added Bistro Loora from Đakovo, Lulu Fusion Bistro from Osijek and Nuré from Zagreb to its Bib Gourmand selection. Croatia now has a total of 14 restaurants carrying this distinction, which recognises establishments offering high-quality cuisine at good value for money.
Special MICHELIN awards highlighting the diversity of professions and skills that make up the hospitality industry were also awarded this year, with the special MICHELIN award for the young chef going to Marin Pleše from the Vila Rova restaurant in Malinska, while the award for the quality of service went to the Monte restaurant in Rovinj. Branimir Vukšić from the Pelegrini restaurant in Šibenik won the award for sommelier of the year, and the award for Opening of the year went to the Nuré restaurant in Zagreb
It is also worth noting that the Croatian National Tourist Board is MICHELIN’s main destination partner in Croatia. The new awards are the result of anonymous visits to Croatian restaurants conducted by MICHELIN’s professional inspectors. As the world’s most influential and prestigious restaurant guide, MICHELIN has published the latest selection for Croatia on its official website.
