Croatia has won the prestigious 2021 Stars Awards in the category of the most desirable travel destination, which is awarded by the specialized Chinese travel and lifestyle magazine Traveling Scope, said Franka Gulin, Director of the CNTB Representative office in China.

„Although the awards ceremony was to be held live with more than 300 guests, due to COVID measures the ceremony was cancelled, but we are extremely pleased that the award was personally delivered to us by Sunny Zhang, the General Manager of the magazine and Lily Liang, Producer and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of this popular magazine which is printed in a monthly circulation of 700,000 copies. This award will provide our country additional visibility in the large Chinese market, which was the case in 2019 when the same magazine awarded our country as the destination with the best cultural and historical heritage. In this market, we will continue to undertake all necessary activities and meetings with key partners in order for our country to have an even better position when travel from the Chinese market reactivates again“, said Gulin.

The Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board, Kristjan Staničić, also commented on Croatia's position as the most desirable destination on the Chinese market. "This award is a great satisfaction for us, but also a confirmation that we are doing a very good job in the Chinese market. It is a very large and demanding market, especially in the circumstances of a pandemic that has significantly slowed down tourist flows between China and Europe in general. However, in the future we expect that our country will be one of the favourite destinations of Chinese travel enthusiasts, and optimism is also given by the feedback of partners and numerous awards and recognitions that our country has won in China", said Staničić.

We would like to add how Traveling Scope magazine has been published since 1980, and it is the first Chinese magazine dedicated exclusively to tourism and travel. In addition to print editions, the magazine is also available via digital channels where they achieve multimillion-viewer coverage.
